Tim Walker's The Lion King
Tim Walker is with no doubt one of the most artistically creative fashion photographers of our time. Known for his dreamy yet approachable photography, Tim Walker is able to capture high fashion in a timeless way that will stay relevant for years to come. As trends and fads die out, Tim Walkers fashion photography keeps it artistic appeal, separating it from the rest of the business.
When Walker was set to shoot for LOVE Magazine, No. 10, the creative genius named the story The Lion King. The editorial was bound for LOVE Magazine’s 5th anniversary issue, and the photographer was again setting the stage for raising the bar. With him on the team were supermodels Edie Campbell, Karen Elson, and the big cat Atlas. The editorial was styled by Katie Grand and Sandy Powell, with hair and makeup by Julien d’Ys. The Lion King by Tim Walker was shot at the Shotover House and garden, an 18th century historic building in Oxforshire, England.
Behind The Scenes
When the issue of LOVE Magazine was published, many were discussing how the photos were done. Was it a real lion? Was it photo manipulation?
Well, this video called ‘Atlas’ by Tim Walker shows that the lion was indeed real, and it also reveals a bit about how it was all done (if you’re able to read between the lines ;)
